The Weeknd confirma que tiene preparado un nuevo álbum: "No se llama como algunos fans creen"

Como sabemos, "The Idol" ha supuesto la llegada de música nueva del canadiense. Pero, como se desprende de una entrevista concedida en exclusiva a Variety, ese no es el proyecto musical nuevo que esperábamos; o, al menos, del todo.

En esa charla, The Weeknd, contesta a si el disco con la BSO de "The Idol" es, realmente, el correspondiente al nuevo proyecto musical que anunciaba año y medio atrás.

Eso es lo que dice del álbum mientras que las canciones que verán la luz con su película hacen un trabajo "Muy colaborativo y también es episódico. Son pequeños EPs, es música por episodio. Así que son como pequeños mini álbumes, en lugar de un cuerpo de trabajo".

Y, de este modo, sabemos que el proyecto discográfico al margen de "The Idol" está muy cerca porque, el músico dice que "Eso está a la vuelta de la esquina".

Es decir, en la charla con Variety desvela que "Estoy terminando la tercera parte de esta de esta saga, de esta trilogía. El nombre saldrá pronto, pero no se llama como algunos fans creen que se llama... lo que creen que se llama es en realidad una canción del álbum, pero no es así como se llama el álbum real. [No está claro a qué título especulativo se refiere.] Así que solo voy a decir eso".

Por tanto, recapitulando, The Weeknd tiene a punto el disco que cerrará una trilogía que comenzaba con 'After Hours' en 2020 y continuaba en 2022 con 'Dawn FM'.

Mientras, lo siguiente es el EP titulado 'The Idol, Vol. 1' que se estrenará el 30 de junio con temas como 'Double Fantasy' con Future, 'Popular' junto a Madonna y Playboi Carti, 'World Class Sinner' o 'The Lure'.

"The Ido", la serie

En una entrevista con Interview Magazine, The Weeknd relataba cómo ve a Tedros, el personaje que interpreta: "Lo escribí, pero lo que me atrajo a interpretarlo fue pretender ser otra persona. Fue un desafío, porque The Weeknd, obviamente, no soy yo. Pero saqué mucho de mí mismo para crear ese personaje. Tedros no se parece en nada a mí".
