Doja Cat vuelve con 'Paint The Town Red', su canción más reciente tras la polémica con sus fans

Doja Cat tiene una semana llena de estrenos y noticias que han sorprendido a propios extraños. Esta jornada, trae bajo el brazo un nuevo sencillo, que ya podemos disfrutar. Así suena ‘Paint The Town Red’, un tema con una marca muy personal por parte de su creadora.

La propia estadounidense adelantó un fragmento a sus seguidores en Twitter. Con un vídeo lleno de sangre, escuchábamos por primera vez las notas de este tema, que contrastan mucho con la imagen. Ahora, con el videoclip ya a nuestra disposición, vemos que esta tendencia disruptiva se ha traducido a lo audiovisual, con escenas muy oscuras que rompen con lo establecido. Doja Cat ha tenido un papel muy importante, ya que aparte de dirigir, toda la estética ha sido traída por ella: “Se basa en tres pinturas que diseñó Doja Cat, cada una de las escenas en el video es una recreación de las pinturas. El mes pasado, Doja Cat pintó la portada del sencillo en su Instagram en vivo mientras conversaba con sus seguidores y daba un adelanto de su nueva canción”.

El lanzamiento de este sencillo viene en una época convulsa de la artista. Después de anunciar su gira, que comenzará en otoño, tuvo una trifulca con varios de sus seguidores, con un intercambio de comentarios que se viralizaron en redes. La estadounidense prendió la chispa, con una frase que sentó muy mal a sus más fieles: “Mis fans no se llaman tonterías a sí mismos. Si te autonombras ‘Kitten’ o ‘Kittenz’ eso significa que tienes que soltar tu teléfono y conseguir un trabajo para ayudar a tus padres”.

Tras la polémica, las repercusiones fueron visibles en el número de seguidores de la artista en redes sociales. Perdió 200.000 ‘followers’ en un solo día, por lo que el mensaje había quedado claro, no les gustaba ese comportamiento. Ahora, está en mano de estos que el sencillo llegue a las cotas que Doja Cat espera, por lo que veremos si ya la han perdonado, o si, por el contrario, han decidido bajarse del carro de su música.
