Alicia Keys publica "Perfect Way To Die" ante la situación generada por las actuaciones policiales en EEUU

Según Alicia, su música refleja el ánimo de la sociedad. Mientras continúa la indignación y las protestas por la violencia policial contra hombres y mujeres negros, la cantante/compositora/productora, no sólo se ha unido al coro de quienes exigen justicia, sino que también ha canalizado esos sentimientos en una nueva e inquietante balada, "Perfect Way to Die".

Alicia Keys, ganadora de 15 premios GRAMMY, escribió la canción para relatar la historia de vidas inocentes perdidas como el caso de Michael Brown y Sandra Bland. Sin embargo, la amplia conciencia despertada por sus asesinatos, y la constante cadena de acciones injustificadas que han seguido hasta hoy, hace de este momento un momento necesario para compartirlo, según la artista. Ahora, tras la muerte de George Floyd su postura toma mayor relieve.

Keys interpretará "Perfect Way To Die" durante la emisión de los premios BET el 28 de junio y la canción aparecerá en su próximo séptimo álbum de estudio, ALICIA, que saldrá este otoño.

De forma trascendental, la artista norteamericana dice de su canción que "por supuesto que no hay una forma perfecta de morir. Esta frase ni siquiera tiene sentido, pero eso es lo que hace que el título sea tan poderoso y desgarrador porque muchos han muerto injustamente. Está escrito desde el punto de vista de la madre cuyo hijo ha sido asesinado por el sistema de racismo que considera la vida de los negros como indigna. Todos sabemos que ninguna de estas vidas inocentes debería haber sido tomada debido a la cultura de la violencia policial."
