Después de 65 años de primacía en cuanto a listas de prestigio, Billboard Hot 100 publica los artistas con más canciones en el número uno de su lista más preciada, te lo contamos

Corría el año 1959 y la revista Billboard decide crear lo que se iba a convertir en el listado de ventas más importante de la historia, el Billboard Top 100, 65 años después han hecho una recopilación para conocer las bandas y artistas que más números uno han tenido a lo largo de estos años, un listado que nos ha sorprendido hasta cierto punto, pero que indica, a las claras, lo que más se ha vendido a lo largo de la historia.

Durante todo este tiempo han sido un total de 1.170 canciones las que han ocupado el top del preciado podio, pero hasta 31.000 han llegado a ocupar alguna posición destacada en este escaparate. Tan solo han sido once los artistas que han podido meter diez o más canciones en el Nº1 y tan solo dos han sido bandas, el resto lo ocupan artistas que trabajan en solitario.

Parece que no habría duda al pensar que The Beatles ocupan la primera plaza dentro de este selectísimo grupo, ellos han conseguido meter hasta 20 canciones en el número uno del Top 100 desde el 1 de febrero de 1964 con ‘I Want to Hold Your Hand’, hasta 1970 con ‘The Long and Winding Road/For You Blue’.

MARIAH CAREY Y RIHANNA EN EL PODIO

Después de The Beatles ha sido Mariah Carey la artista que más números uno ha conseguido cuando en 1990 aterrizó en la lista con ‘Vision of Love’ y hasta 2019 cuando en navidades obtenía una vez más el máximo honor con ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’. Entre esas fechas canciones como ‘Emotions’, ‘Always Be my Baby’ o ‘I’ll Be There’ se alzaban con el premio de ventas más preciado del mundo.

La tercera posición es para Rihanna, una artista que ha sabido colarse en esta lista a lo largo de dos décadas que ha sabido dominar con presteza, son 14 los singles que han conseguido el Nº1 desde mayo de 2006 con ‘SOS’, hasta marzo de 2016 con ‘Work’ junto a Drake.

EL RESTO DEL SELECTO GRUPO

Michael Jackson es el siguiente en la lista al haber cosechado hasta 13 números uno entre 1972 con ‘Ben’ y 1995 con ‘You Are Not Alone’. Sigue a la zaga Drake con las mismas cifras que el rey del pop, pero entre 2010 y 2023.

Triple empate en los siguientes puestos que, con 12 números uno cada una se sitúan Madonna, The Supremes y Taylor Swift, ocupando cada una de ellas una etapa muy diferente en la historia de esta lista. La novena posición es para Whitney Houston, que ha logrado un total de 11 números uno entre 1985 y 1995.

Para acabar el listado nos encontramos a Janet Jackson y Stevie Wonder con diez números uno por cabeza.

LOS ARTISTAS CON MENOS DE 10 NÚMEROS UNO

Fuera de ese club de los que han conseguido meter 10 o más canciones en el número uno se encuentran artistas de la talla de Beyoncé, Elton John, Bee Gees, Katy Perry o Paul McCartney (tanto en solitario como con Wings), ellos lograron en nueve ocasiones esta hito, que no alcanzaron al quedarse con ocho Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, George Michael o The Rolling Stones.
