The Weeknd protagonizará su primer largometraje que también ha escrito

Según cuenta Herran Mamo en Billboard. Abel Tesfaye, The Weeknd, no solo protagonizará, sino que también ha escrito y producirá la película.

Se desconoce el nombre del film pero sí se informa de que la dirección que corre a cargo del norteamericano Trey Edward Shults conocido por haber estado al frente de Krisha (2015), la película de terror psicológico It Comes at Night (2017) y el drama Waves (2019) y que, además, es coguionista y productor ejecutivo.

Junto a The Weeknd estará la actriz estadounidense Jenna Ortega siendo también productora ejecutiva de la película. Del reparto también se ha dado a conocer la presencia de Barry Keoghan.

La película se está filmando actualmente en Los Ángeles y, a partir de aquí, quedamos pendientes de más detalles. En la publicación mencionada se cuenta también que "El socio productor de The Weeknd, Reza Fahim, quien co-creó la próxima serie de HBO de la superestrella, The Idol , Kevin Turen y Harrison Kreiss también están acreditados como productores de la película. Fahim también es uno de los coguionistas. El director de fotografía Chayse Irvin ( Blonde , BlacKkKlansman ) también se une a la producción".

Recordemos que, en cine, "Avatar: El Sentido del Agua" incluía la colaboración de The Weeknd para el film dirigido por James Cameron. Era con 'Nothing is Lost (You Give Me Strength)' una canción de la banda sonora.

Es una apuesta por crear un himno a la medida del film y desde la personalidad de The Weeknd. Se crea una atmósfera musical repleta de orquestas y toques épicos.
