Ed Sheeran consigue su décimocuarto liderato con 'Eyes Closed' en la lista de canciones del Reino Unido

El músico británico ha obtenido su decimocuarto sencillo número 1 con 'Eyes Closed' mientras que el segundo puesto ha quedado para lo nuevo de Calvin Harris y Ellie Goulding.

Ed Sheeran ha conseguido así ponerse a la altura de Cliff Richard y del grupo irlandés Westlife empatando en la mayor cantidad de éxitos en las listas de éxitos en la historia de las listas del Reino Unido y por detrás de Elvis Presley que cuenta con 21 puestos en el #1 y The Beatles con 17.

Por otra parte, este lanzamiento de Sheeran ha dado al traste a 10 semanas de Miley Cyrus con 'Flowers' en la listas de canciones británicas.

Además de eso, Ed ahora también tiene la quinta mayor cantidad de entradas Top 10 que cualquier artista en la historia de las listas oficiales.

Recordemos que el próximo álbum de estudio de Ed, 'Subtract', se lanzará el viernes 5 de mayo. Del contenido de su apuesta destaca el lado personal: "Como artista, no creía que pudiera presentar al mundo un trabajo que no representara exactamente dónde estoy y cómo necesito expresarme en este momento de mi vida. Este álbum es puramente eso. Es abrir la trampilla de mi alma. Por primera vez, no estoy intentando crear un álbum que guste a la gente, simplemente estoy sacando algo que es honesto y fiel al punto en el que me encuentro en mi vida adulta".
