Ed Sheeran calienta motores para la llegada de '=': estrena 'Overpass Graffiti' y canta 4 temas más

Vestido con una sudadera con capucha y zapatillas de deporte Ed Sheeran rodeado de estanterías, desde una biblioteca, acudía a su cita musical "Tiny Desk (en casa)" con su 'Shivers y cuatro canciones más, destacando además 'Overpass Graffiti' como estreno inesperado.

El material lanzado hasta el momento de su próximo álbum, '=', que se lanzará el próximo viernes 29 de octubre, según los organizadores del concierto, "se inclina fuertemente hacia la esfera del pop de los 80 y brinda vislumbres de la vida personal de Sheeran durante su tiempo fuera".

Pero hoy lo relevante es que estrena 'Overpass Graffiti', una oda dinámica a la resistencia del amor prolongado. Mientras 'Visiting Hours' es una sincera dedicación a su amigo cercano y mentor, el ejecutivo australiano Michael Gudinski, que falleció en marzo.

La idea de los conciertos "Tiny Desk Concerts" surgió en 2008 cuando el presentador de All Songs Considered, Bob Boilen, y el productor de NPR Music, Stephen Thompson, fueron a ver una presentación musical de la cantautora Laura Gibson en un bar. Como no pudieron escuchar las canciones debido al ruido de las personas que estaban en el lugar, Thompson le dijo en tono de broma a Gibson que mejor fuese a tocar a las oficinas de la radio, lo que motivó a Boilen para organizar esa presentación. El concierto en Washington D. C. se realizó el 14 de abril de 2008 y el vídeo de la presentación fue publicado en internet por NPR cuatro días después.

El nombre Tiny Desk Concerts tiene un significado doble. Además de hacer referencia al escritorio de Boilen, que está ubicado junto a los músicos durante los conciertos, también se refiere a su antigua banda, llamada Tiny Desk Unit.
