Lewis Capaldi consigue superar a Ed Sheeran con la canción más escuchada en la historia del Reino Unido

El escocés acaba de hacer historia al conseguir con 'Someone You Loved' superar 'Shape Of You' de Ed Sheeran. Así, con los datos de Official Charts es ya la canción más escuchada en el Reino Unido de todos los tiempos.
La noticia ha sido tomada por Capaldi con entusiasmo y, de paso, gran respeto hacia Ed como veremos de inmediato.
El reinado de Capaldi
The Official Charts Company confirma el nuevo récord de transmisión y, además, ocurre cuando llega el 70 aniversario de la lista oficial de temas que viene publicando esta organización.
Esta marca de Capaldi llega habiendo acumulado la asombrosa cantidad de 562 millones de transmisiones (transmisiones de audio y vídeo del Reino Unido combinadas).

Lewis ha mostrado su ilusión sobre ello: "¡Soy el rey de la transmisión! ¡En el Reino Unido! ¡En esta canción en particular! Me siento enorme, me siento enorme, siento que mis entrañas se expanden a medida que ser más y más consciente de la realidad de mi coronación como el rey de la música. Gracias. Un galardón muy grande que ahora soportaré por el resto de mi vida... o hasta que Ed Sheeran lance su próximo álbum".
Incidiendo en Ed Sheeran, el escocés dice que "Ed es un hombre que es como un hermano para mí, ha sido un mentor, me rodeó con el brazo y dijo que no se preocupe, todo va a estar bien. Nos dio el honor de apoyarlo en los shows de clausura de la gira Divide, no ha sido más que amable, cortés y hermoso, un buen amigo en una industria en constante cambio".
El gran éxito del cantautor escocés llegó por primera vez a la lista oficial de singles en el número 100 en noviembre de 2018, antes de ascender constantemente a la victoria en los meses siguientes. Ahora, como decimos, se ha convertido en la canción más escuchada de todos los tiempos en el Reino Unido.

Así desplaza al poseedor del récord anterior, Ed Sheeran, al segundo lugar en la lista de todos los tiempos con 'Shape Of You', estrenado en 2017 y otro puesto para Ed en el número 3 con su número 1 de Navidad de 2017, 'Perfect'.
