'Laundry Service' de Shakira celebra su 20 aniversario: nuevos contenidos y vídeos musicales

Se trata de una versión digital ampliada de aquel álbum que incluye ahora cuatro nuevos bonus tracks en plataformas digitales. Esta nueva edición digital ampliada estrena el remix inédito de 'Whenever, Wherever' de la actuación del Medio Tiempo de la Super Bowl LIV realizada el 2 de febrero de 2020.
Además, llegan otros tres bonus tracks disponibles en plataformas digitales: 'Whenever, Wherever' (Sahara remix), 'Underneath Your Clothes' (acoustic version) y 'Objection (Tango)' (Afro-punk version). Y para los más coleccionistas se publicará una edición vinilo de 'Laundry Service' el viernes 17 de diciembre.
'Laundry Service' de 2001 a 2021
Originalmente publicado el 13 de noviembre de 2001 supuso un empuje sin precedentes para Shakira hacia la música pop internacional. El disco incorporaba elementos de música andina, dance, pop, sonidos de Oriente Medio, rock 'n' roll y tango, con la artista colombiana como artista e intérprete. Explorando los temas del amor y el romance, muchos expresados en su recién descubierto dominio del inglés, ella escribió todas las canciones del álbum mientras coproducía bajo la dirección ejecutiva de Emilio Estefan.
De 'Laundry Service' salieron seis singles, incluyendo el hit internacional 'Whenever, Wherever' y los siguientes éxitos 'Underneath Your Clothes', 'Objection (Tango)', 'Te Dejo Madrid', 'Que Me Quedes Tú' y 'The One'. 'Laundry Service' lideró los rankings en países como Australia, Austria, Bélgica, Canadá y Suiza, y también entró en el Top 5 en otros países como Argentina, Francia, Alemania, España y Reino Unido. En EEUU llegó al #3 de la lista Billboard 200 de álbumes.
'Laundry Service' vendió 18 millones de copias en todo el mundo, convirtiéndose en uno de los álbumes más vendidos del siglo XXI.

El 12 de noviembre de 2001, la víspera del lanzamiento original de 'Laundry Service', Shakira interpretó una selección esencial en la fiesta de lanzamiento de su álbum en la famosa Sala Roseland de Nueva York.
