Bonnie Tyler celebra 1000 millones de visualizaciones de 'Total Eclipse of the Heart', su emblemática canción

Estamos echando la vista, a 1983, cuando esta incombustible y excelsa intérprete lanzaba 'Total Eclipse of the Heart'. Y, ojo, que ya venía de arrebatar el corazón a mundo y medio con una canción indispensable en su repertorio y en el de aquellos tiempos, 'It's a Heartache' de 1977.

Desde sus primeros días en un pequeño pueblo minero en el sur de Gales, hasta su carrera como cantante de club que la llevó a ser descubierta accidentalmente por un cazatalentos, Bonnie llegaría a conseguir estar en el imaginario pop internacional. Su valentía la llevó a trabajar con el legendario productor y compositor Jim Steinman, y luego grabó las clásicas baladas 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' y 'Holding Out for a Hero', además de hacer duetos con algunos de los más conocidos nombres de la música.

Ella mantuvo su música como indispensable en los años 80, la época de discotecas y de baile (también) en pareja, para sobrevolar hasta hoy (un siglo distinto) para ofrecer la calidad como premisa musical.

El vídeo fue filmado en el Sanatorio Holloway de Inglaterra mientras la canción fue escrita y producida por el mencionado Jim Steinman y lanzada en el quinto álbum de estudio de Tyler, 'Faster Than the Speed of Night' (1983).

El vídeo musical de 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' fue dirigido por Russell Mulcahy y fue filmado en el Holloway Sanatorium, un gran hospital gótico victoriano cerca de Virginia Water, (Surrey, Inglaterra). El vídeo, ciertamente surrealista y alegórico, muestra a Tyler vestida de blanco y ropas vaporosas. Se ve a jóvenes/internos bailando y participando en diversas actividades escolares o cantando en un coro.

Con datos, a pesar de su éxito anterior, esta es la canción que consabraba a la artista galesa. Y, por ello, entre octubre y diciembre, realizará una gira para conmemorar los cuarenta años de su canción, como recordaremos al final.
